Hi there

Today i saw this one:

it has a door for the sunroof. I doent have the 200 till now, but maybe you could help me.

Could it be practicable to enter a rooftent this way?

Everything is possible but to get from the front seats up on the roof is a very big step. You'd have to stand/step on the coolbox and the backrest of the seats to make this convenient in terms of step height. Seat backrest is however too far backwards to make this easy.... I'd go with a ladder instead, more convenient and less wear and tear on your interior.

Most tents have an integrated ladder so the door wouldn't be in the right spot. IMO a ladder would be much easier than climbing thru the car.

Thanks for your postings. Also if it doent replace the Ladder:

I thought that i am able to use heating source from the car this way, togehter with an insulation

And have possible an emergency Exit to the car, if a Lion arround the car is waiting ;)

Together with a long xxl Version of a rooftent.

I heard it is possible to get this tent with 2.5m - maybee its possible to place it the right way

You could always custom make a door there as well. I think it's a great BACKUP plan, and the heating idea sounds neat if you don't mind running your motor all night...

hello im almost ready to bite the bullet and get a roof top tent probably going with the ARB; the ladder helps alot with stabilty of the expanding tent. waiting the info from the expo to see if any new products are in the pipeline.

r3run33,

About the tents, I am bringing a new "style" ARB RTT tent to the Expo. The difference between the one that I have (Simpson III) and this one is that this tent does not have the "U-shaped aluminum bow".

It's not a bad idea, you can just take your boots off in the drivers seat and scramble up. That would keep everything clean. Opening your hatch to warm up your RTT in the evening before bed then the morning would be nice. It has probably never been designed because many Safari vehicles don't have sunroofs.

Only downside is that your sleeping guest would have to curl up in a ball so you could access the hatch any time you had to make a late night bathroom break. I guess that's not any worse than having to climb over someone sleeping so you could climb down the ladder.

thanks sbly looking forward to the pics from expo; For some reason they seem to be getting bigger and bigger; not sure why. I prefer it to be small (less weight to but on roof thus making the vehicle top heavy) 2 people max and I guess enough room to sit up etc. I seen one hanibal one and it was like a lounge room. thanks again
