I am new to owning a TLC. Mine is a 96 and I'm working to put an offroad/camping package together. I've only begun my search but was hoping I could get some pointers from some experienced folks here. I'm looking at roof top tents and was hoping to get some recommendations and perhaps some references to read up more on them.

I guess it would be also beneficial to find out what products to stay away from.

The tent would house myself, wife and 2 kids...currently 6 years old.

Thanks!

Mike at AutoHome and BajaRacks (the maker of the rack) now have a flat rack out for the Maggiolina roof top tents, and I do not see why it would not work with any brand of tent.
Mike has one on his Land Cruiser ti support his tent.

It is called the MB model, but is not listed on either site yet.
I have that model on my FJC, and it is very high quality.

If you are looking to house that many people though, there is one brand out that has a huge roof top tent that takes two ladders to support it.

I saw it a few years back searching for pics of roof top tents online.
I guess if you want to house the whole family, this is the one to get.

AutoHome also makes a small canvas one that fits two side by side on one rack and extends out, it might work out too.

The way they flip out to the side they might fit a rack on a Land Cruiser.
