Roof tent ideas for an Arb roof rack basket + awning

Looking for ideas on which roof rack tent would best mount on a arb roof rack basket.

I also have a Yakima slim shady that won’t mount to this roof rack because of lack of cross bars. Need ideas on how to add cross bars perhaps to this rack.

Why not take the rack off to run a roof tent. It seems they would be competing for the same space?

Yes they would. I would prefer to keep the arb since I can’t attach the roof tent directly to the roof of the truck. I also have it installed already.

I don't think I'd want a tent on top of the basket bars. Having all of that weight up high isn't great already, now your going higher? not a good idea in my opinion. I like the ARB rack, I'd consider cutting the basket off the back half....as long as your committed to this idea.

If you are not going to remove the rack then you have two choices.
1. cut the rack as @cwwfj60 said.
2. measure the inside of the rack and look at a hard shell that would fit. I am not a fan of the shock type hard shells that are all over the place now (prefer the crank style) but this may be your only choice.

Option 3 would be (and the one I would do) is sell the ARB, but a new rack and get the tent you want.

I have a basket style rack thats pretty beefy and came off a range rover. I'm assuming the foot spacing is wrong for the 60 but was just planning to cut the feet off and mount it to a set of thule cross bars. You could do something similar to make it easier to pull the rack off and slide the roof tent on....that way you could leave the roof bars in place regardless of which item you were running.
