hi, anyone have a spare set laying around or know an alternative for them (can I just run a bolt through the holes?)

Trying to make use of the roof rails finally and about to mount a cargo box and noticed they were missing!

Thx

The dealer didn't have any info either although they did manage to track down a similar part for a 4Runner. I wonder if it would work. PN 00278-00965

Anyone know the thread pitch of those thumb wheels? My thread gauge won't reach down into the threaded bore.

Jeez, I just lost one last week myself. I tried to use some off my old runner, 98, and the threads did not reach

just found some of these on mcmaster carr's website;

$12.26 for a pack of 10.

I'll run out and buy a bolt to verify thread length before ordering through mcmaster carr.

I think they'll work, the OE ones have 17mm of thread on maybe 20-22mm shaft. I only know this cause I couldn't find my thread pitch gauge so I counted the total thread length and number of threads - 1 per mm.

BCM, that is amazingly cool of you! Will be sure to, 'pay forward' when the situation presents itself. You have incoming PM - THANK YOU

I also just noticed I'm missing 4 of these thumb screws - anybody else have any or know if the pack referenced above fit?

Thanks

I noticed a rattle coming from the roof above the passenger seat and when I got out to inspect I noticed that I was missing two also. I went to my local Ace hardware and purchase (4) M6 x 1.0 bolts. I also bought the plastic thumb screw ends but decided against putting the bolts through them since I would have to wait for epoxy to dry and then most likely end up breaking it while trying to install them. I just slid a washer over the bolt and put a few dots of heavy duty loctite on each one and screwed them right into place. It took some fiddling but I finally got them tightened and it feels brand new.

Thanks Forger!
Funny, that's the ONLY reason I noticed as well -- during a rattle hunt.
Can't wait to lock this down... Was driving me crazy!
Advise others to check on these also -- remaining were loose.
