Roof Rack Restoration (1 Viewer)

Anybody restored a 3rd gen roof rack? Looks like mine is galvanized and a bit of the paint has peeled. I cleaned them up with an abrasive pad and was thinking about maybe just hitting them with satin lacquer to lock in the patina and the paint that's left. I thought about rustoleum but I'm afraid it will flake just like the original did. And then there is powder coating...

Anyone done this and have advice?

I just re-painted the one on my truck, hit it with a green scotch pad and mineral spirits first and than used a can of Rustoleum. Looks good enough for me!

That was my first plan but I was worried about the galvanized... How is yours holding up to the AZ sun?
