Roof Rack recommendations for 2000 100series. Does new ARB Base Rack fit a 100 series?

Gamiviti 1000% Best rack in the biz IMO. Very modular design and can be configured for all sorts of differing setups. The side ladder Tim produces for the rack is a serious bonus. The plastic grid panels he sells can be snapped on and off easily and make both a fantastic tie down setup as well as ground grates outside your tent entrance (keeps dirt, mud, sand etc from being tracking into your tent). Once I unload the rack at basecamp, I unsnap one of the grid panels and put it on the ground at the entrance to my tent. I LOVE that he offers a complete 8 tower setup that utilizes all 8 mounting points on the 100 Series platform. That maximizes your static load capacity and adds a significant safety advantage regarding dynamic load capacity. Best part is, you support a super cool dude (Tim) who has in turn supported our 100 community for a LONG time. It is a low profile BTW.

I am convinced if I ever buy a roof rack, it'll be a Gamviti. I just can't find justification for a roof rack at the moment.

Doesn't look like an Erector set with all the exposed bolt heads everywhere. The "expo" on the Gamiviti provides excellent hand holds (the Dissent has narrow/square edges that aren't near as comfortable to grip IMO). They're both great racks, but I am simply not a fan of the exposed bolt heads everywhere. I think it just looks bad IMO.....like it's a homebuilt kit.....purely aesthetics for me. Tim (Gamiviti) and Ben (Dissent) are both great dudes with solid reputations and have supported us 100 Series owners for a LONG time. I don't think you'd go wrong either direction. I just prefer the looks of the Gamiviti.

Another vote for Gamiviti. @nakman quality just can't be beat and he's a huge supporter of our community. Ive had ARB, Frontrunner, and Rhino Rack before. The Gamiviti is just on another level. The strength, excellent powder coating, custom options, and fit combine to make it the best. Its also probably the lowest profile rack available. If you're serious about a rack its really the only way to go.

Per your title, yes the ARB BASE rack fits, as they have a model specifically for the 100s.

I'm having a hard time finding that actually.


Mounting kits are available for fitment to the 80 Series, and 60 Series Land Cruisers as well as all gutter mount vehicles (Classic Range Rover, Jeep Cherokee XJ, etc.). Blade rail mounting systems are available for the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 series, 5th Generation Toyota 4Runner, and Jeep Wrangler JL

This range will expand with more SUV applications, as well as a comprehensive range of cab racks for mid-sized pickup applications.

Thanks! I was disappointed to find that yodateq didn’t make side mirror brackets for 100s so I took a strip of aluminum, cut it, rounded off the corners and then drilled holes that line up with the small bolts that hold the mirror assembly to the part that connects to the door. (There’s three bolts under there, I used two) then took aluminum spacers to make the mount level and reassembled the mirror with longer bolts. And ran the wires through the mirror assembly in the door, and through the harness grommet to in the cab. I got the idea from a guy that did it to his Tacoma. I can’t find it but I did find this write up. 2nd Gen 4runner Ditch Lights - YotaTech Forums

Dude been researching the arb rack you have. So sick. How is the road noise? Is the drag noticeable? Is it really that tall to get into parking garages? I have a 2018 LC
