Looking to replace the stock rack on my 03 LX. I mostly use the roof for surfboards so just having the two bars is nice. When we go camping and boating etc it would be nice to be able to throw larger stuff not he roof so I am trying to locate a Slee style full roof rack. I am wondering if anyone has a rack like this that they also use for surfboards successfully. I am envisioning something like the BAJA style rack because it has two elevated bars to attach a surfboard to but it says it is not compatible with the LX. Any input of fabrication tips would be helpful I think I have exhausted google search maybe there just isn't such a beast.

Did you check out Front Runner? They seem to have a ton of accessories for their racks.

Another option (probably a lot cheaper)... I just made a simple 3/4 rack for my 4runner out of angle and expanded metal. Surfboard bars, other accessories, tie-down points could easily be added. I don't know much about how add-on roof racks mount to the 100 / LX series though.

If you want modularity you may want to have a look at Rhino-Rack as well, not quite as you describe but they have carriers for nearly anything you want to carry on your roof (except the mother-in-law Clark).

If you want a customized plaform for anything, check out Gamiviti as well.

I know both companies fit 100 series and Gamiviti is heavily focused on them.

Trail Tailor @reevesci will weld up whatever you want. Have him bend up a couple raised bars on one of his flat racks for you.

All good choices. Obviously I'm partial to Front Runner's line of racks. That said, you may also want to consider throwing on a couple rails (the ones that run along the gutter on each side of the roof) and then adding Yakima towers and cross bars. May be a little less expensive than getting a full expo/baja-type rack.
