rocker arm chatter?

My FJ60 makes this chattering sound especially during the warmup phase. Once hot it runs relativly quiet. The noise is only in part the typical valve clearance tap clack. Checking the valve lash (clearance) the correct feeler gauge almost doesn't go through. Overall it sounds more like a sowing machine, somewhat a mushy sound like hand clapping and ducks sqwaking.

Anyone an idea?

I have an idea. Check your valve lash. I always ran mine slightly tighter than specified at .007 and .005. This worked well, ran a little better and was quieter.
