Another good weekend down to RH. We were just barely able to make it in and out due to snow and mud.

Hit Jarbige at about 2pm for a beer then headed for the canyon. Lots of snow flurries mixed with some sun. A few stucks and some trail clearing and we were down at the bottom of the canyon for the night. Cleared off last night and was beautiful. Today was nice and sunny but real slick coming out this morning.

One more, Jarbidge pitstop.

I went down last weekend to check things out. Spent Friday night at Indian Hot Springs, then drove down to Jarbidge for lunch and a beer before hitting the trails.

Lots of snow down there still above 6-7,000ft. River and streams are raging. Lots of timber down and the trails need clean up.

Jace who runs the Red Dog Saloon in Jarbidge is a long time local and Cruiserhead. I been down there a half dozen times or more now but Jace was filling me in on a lot of trails I have never ran. Looking forward to exploring those this year.

It was!

I decided to not risk it at 7pm around this beaver pond. The Cruiser kept sliding into the pond, those sticks I put in there mark a vertical edge that drops off to 4ft deep. I gave it three stabs and it just kept sliding to the right. Being solo and late I had no interest in taking any risks. So I didn’t actually make it to the bottom of the canyon.

Went down over the weekend and did an Indian Hot Springs - Robinson Hole loop trip. Had planned on four days but it rained A LOT so we cut it short to three. The flies were nasty bad! Just kind if put up with them. The trails were much more difficult in pouring down rain! Dropping into Robinson Hole from the SW side made for a “controlled slide” most of the way! Ran a trail I hadn’t ran before on Sunday in pissing down rain. That made the steep sections require the rear locker and heavy on the throttle. Great trail which connects to the Robinson Hole trail to make it much longer! Nobody at Indian Hot Springs, one Jeep on the trail. Only one group of UTVs on all the other trails, had Robinson Hole to ourselves. Made HUGE awesome dinners on the fire and a really excellent fire Saturday night.

Did the IHS loop dropping in the “ruins side”. The top section is always sketchy where it is washed out, about a foot between the 80 and the bottom of the canyon!

The bridge is nice at the bottom, you can cross now when the river is to deep to attempt. The trail through the river is getting overgrown now too. I killed it fishing down here Saturday morning, a dozen or more 8-14” bull trout, yes I released them all. Nearly a fish every cast!
