Congratulations on a great looking 62!

doing pretty good so far. On I64W about an hour west of Charleston.

stopping in Louisville for the night. The beast and I both need a rest.

Sorry, I've been dead-heading this trip so haven't really stopped for a any pics. Everything was going fine until I was just getting into Kansas. The engine had been running pretty cool the entire trip so I figured either the thermostat wasn't closing all the way or the gauge was off. Well I guess it finally decided to close, permanently. I was able to limp back to Kansas City and now I'm sitting in an O'Reilly's parking lot waiting for it to cool down enough that I can replace it. Then hopefully I can get back on the road and be in Denver by 3am or so. The kids want me home for father's day!

Crap! Two bolts sheered off... Guess I'm going to have to limp it the rest of the way home. On the good side, just discovered the A/C has been converted. One can of R134 later and I'm cruising in comfort. I'll call that a partial win?

Home for Father's Day, hope you can get some rest now!

:) Drove all night and got in early this morning. Temp never went up again so maybe just a fluke with the gauge? Having A/C for the final leg of the trip made it so much nicer. So 1600+ miles at 70-80mph in 2 days. Not too shabby for a 27yr old truck.

Don't count on it.

What about the heater registers when it was showing hot? How hot was the air coming out?

...and if you had two bolts shear off you'll be getting back into the T-stat one way or the other again soon. Good time to make sure you've got a good Toyota T-stat in there.

Sounds like an awesome drive!
