My dog got out the other night with out my wife or I realizing it, I came home from work for lunch yesterday and my wife was frantic about finding him. During the search I spoke with a neighbor the next street over who informed me that he shot my dog the previous night at 3:00 AM. I found him in a neighbor's yard yesterday at 3:00 PM and buried him last night. I'll never forgive my self, he was the best dog and friend I've ever had, he will truly be missed.

what the fxxx?

He shot your lab because it was in his yard?

The POS that shot him has 4 pit/mix/killers chained up in his back yard. My dog went over there sniffing around, woke up his dogs who were going berzerk, the guy comes out, sees something rushing at him (my dog) and shot him twice with an MP40. He said that he did not realize it was dog until my dog yelped after the 2nd shot. "they tried to find him after the cops arrived for shots fired but couldn't find him". He probably would have lived had we found him in time, he was over a 100 yards from the place of shooting, within eye sight of my back yard. My step dad, who was once a vet at the county animal shelter told me that about 80% of gun shots to dogs are survivable. I just could not find him in time. I used the reference of killers above to describe the assholes dogs because my step dad said they were "killers", he has had to put doewn well over a 100 vicious dogs in his day and that's exactly how he described them. Please make sure you keep your dogs under control or you could wind up with a story like mine. I just can not believe this has happened, the dog was like a brother to my daughter and we got him when she was 5 months old.

I'm so sorry to hear about this loss to your family. I can't imagine how I would feel if someone shot my dog.

That sucks. I had a chocolate for 17 years. He was shot in the chest/shoulder for digging in someones trash. Luckily the .22 round didn't hit any vitals. Sorry for your loss.

That pic tears me up. My chocolate is 8 y/o and comes with me to the office every day. Condolences from myself and Rosco.

Sorry to hear it, my neighbor has one just like him, great dog.:frown:

Forgive yourself, don't forgive the neighbor, he's a POS. What do the authorities have to say? Around here, going outside at night and shooting at "something" in the dark could get you in a whole bunch of trouble.

Hi All:

Oh man, I am really sorry to hear about Buster! That really sucks! :frown:

My condolences.

Alan

Wow I am so very sorry to hear this! What a horrible story. Rest easy and run free, Buster..............

Sorry to hear this. My condolences. I had to put both of my labs down within 9 months of eachother, so I know what you're going thru.

Sent from my junk thru thin air

That is heart rending. I'm really sorry to hear about that.

I'm really sorry to hear that your neighbor's dogs all accidentally drank antifreeze, too.

Sue him for mental anguish and make his POS life miserable. Tell him to his ass clown face that you will not rest till his life sucks. My condolences to you as I know how hard it is to lose a lab.

Mate that sucks. What a top looking Pooch.
What action are/have the Police taken. Firing 2 shot at something when he had no idea ( as he says) what it was is ridiculous. With the strict firearm laws here he would have had his firearms confiscated and would be facing charges

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you have a real winner of a neighbor. You might just want to poke around for county/city codes on how your neighbor keeps his dogs chained up and any HOA laws regarding the number of dogs/pets allowed at a residence.

We have some of the loosest gun laws in the US and he'd still be facing charges for that s***.

Very sorry to hear that man. That's just a s***ty situation all around.
