I know there has been a lot of questions around this tire size so I thought I'd share.

I upgraded from stock wheels running 275/70/18 ko2. I enjoyed the KO2, but I thought I'd try something different this time around. After my first trip with them I'll update u guys.

For suspension I have the following
1 x Pair SPC-25465 Upper Control Arm
2 x OME2722 Rear Coil Springs
2 x Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport 61029 Rear Shocks
2 x Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sport 91005 Front Struts
2 x OME2702 Front Springs
Front / rear 1.25 spidertrax spacers.
RW wheels

Driving off from the tire shop was a bit....challenging lol. I had some rubbing close to the front mudflap mounts and the front fender lining. The spare also doesn't fit under the truck, but I got a rear bumper coming soon so no issues.

So I went home and tried to bend it back a bit. It helped a little but it needed to be trimmed.

I did some trimming around the front mud flap mount area.
I had to remove 1 mudflat mounting screw and hammer the mount back a bit (it's not as bad as it sounds, I'll take photos after I clean up the area)

After trimming I was able to drive around town without too much problems. I still rub on the fender lining and something else while 3/4 going up a driveway or plaza entrance.

I haven't had a chance to do more than that today but I'll be working on the truck either tomorrow or next weekend.
# TODO:
- Heat the fender liner and flex it out for more clearance.
- Check the bumpstops if they need to be upgraded to larger ones for clearance
- KDSS relo bar from slee. It doesn't rub from what I can tell, but it's too close for comfort. I'd like to see more clearance for when I'm aired down
- Reversing still rubs the front fender lining so hopefully heating it up will fix it.

lmk if you have any questions. I've only had these for an afternoon so lots more to figure out in the days to come.

Proper ground pounder!

Cha-ching, what a great looking Cruiser!

That tire, per tiresize.com, is 33.8"...do you know what the total height of your rig is minus the roof rack? I'm thinking of going to a 305/65/18 which is a 33.6".

I'll keep u updated. I gotta measure it later when I start working on the rig. As of right now, I'm not even pulling into parking garages with 8'2 clearance lol.

How is the road noise compared to the previous set?

Pretty much the same from the KO2. I've heard from my 4runner and taco buddies that the ridge grappler is quieter for them. Maybe the LC has a bit more sound insulating so I can't tell the difference?

the ridge grapplers ARE silent - rubber road whisperers

Had some time today to cut the front fender. I now have 0 rub when reversing going forward up my driveway.
Here's what I did

Keep in mind, this is just reversing and going up my driveway. Rock crawling with full suspension flex might be a different story.
I'm going to add the front & rear bump stop later next weekend
Front
Wheeler's Front SuperBump Bumpstop Set for 2005+ Tacoma, 2003+ 4Runner, 2007+ FJ Cruiser, 2007+ Tundra (01SUPERBUMPKIT)
Rear
TBD ( Let me know if u guys have good recommendations :D)

I'll update everyone again when I add more stuff. I'm optimistic I can get this to work !

So I decided to go with some Timbren rear bump stops http://timbren.com/blog/products-page/abstorlc2/.

I had some time to drive the truck around town this week and did some u-turns, going up drive ways.....and I haven't heard any rub!! whoo hoo! Again, driving around town means, no full articulation or flex. I had more rubbing with my 275/70/18 (no fender trimming).

This weekend, I'll be installing the front and rear bump stops.

Next on my list is suspension. I'm eying the Kings 2.5 with 700front spring rates and 2723 OME springs in the rear. I'm going to have to see if I can clear the external res hose in the front. If y'all have any experience with this, definitely let me know!

Sorry for not reporting for awhile! But after a long wait and a quick field test, here are the results with the new Kings, front and rear bump stops

Rear bump stops

Front bump stops. We found that the super bumpstops couldn't be installed on the front side of the LCA. So for the LC, you need two front bump stops per side (just incase y'all haven't checked). The front side will hit the king coils so we decided to only put it in the rear side of the front LCA. Works fine. I'll try to trim the the bumpstops and try to get it to fit the fronts....but football is back so....I'll be laggin on that project.

It barely touches under some compression but I don't care too much lol. Can't even hear it rub.

I tested full flex, jumps, and some aggressive driving...ZERO problems baby!!!! Ready for my next trip!

Also forgot to mention, I did trim the front fender a bit more after the kings installation.

Those 1.25" spacers are probably making the fit tougher. .75" or 1" might be the ticket.

Either way, looking great!

Thanks!
Probably wouldn't go less than 1.25. Tires are already super close to the KDSS bar.

Actually, looking at where it's closest to the KDSS bar, it might be the "swing" with a lower offset that's making it come closer. Higher offset will have tire pivot rather than swing.

@Markuson is using a .75" spacer with a larger 35x12.5 tire (I think same RG?) and he's able to clear fine.

My wheels/tires are moved forward during alignment...and I’m not running stock bumpers.
He’s a lot more constrained with the Tupperware in front. Throw a TJM, ARB, TT and would be a different story.
