Cup holder went in before she even ran.
Funny! I missed that other pic…sweet shot from above. Stared at it for about 30 seconds before I figured out what was going on. It looked like you’d gotten yourself stuck between two granite pillars… It’s been a long day.

Gotta have somewhere to put the beer during wrenching work!
I picked up one of those craftsman magnetic cup holders (about the best thing they make anymore) and it travels around the cruiser with me while I’ve been working on it. Spilled too many drinks before.

When driving it gets slapped onto the front of my confer console.

19 here in Sunset Valley, TX.
Plants covered, faucets covered.
Norman fired up with a little complaining when I went to move her into her stall. But fired up nonetheless. BillyGoat, the 62 wouldn’t start. Battery sounds tired and struggley.

I was slightly toasty last night and bought a set of ProCar 90 seats. My ass is looking forward to those. I’ll rebuild the OG seats eventually but for $or seat foam plus shipping cost, I’m already ahead. Not to mention the actual covers, probably Cruiser Corps.

Sometimes I love my drunk self. He makes sound financial decisions every now and again.

Ha ha that’s funny. Agreed though. Ridiculously expensive seat foam and covers on my list for 2024.

Cool pic. We’ve been having a cold snap up here as well. I didn’t realize it got that cold in Texas.

It’s a thing here. Generally gets into the 20’s here and there with a catastrophic cold snap sprinkled in every so often. We actually got a solid 2’ of snow here a couple years ago. Was fun until the grid failed for a week.

Balances out the 700+ days of a 100+ we get every year?

That cold snap y'all got a couple of winters ago killed off a bunch of mangroves down by Corpus. Miles and miles of em.

Yes, crazy what that particular event did to the state. A bit of a reset in more ways than one.

Was tired of my worn out, crusty and powdery side view mirrors so snagged these from the dealer. They’re a bit smaller but convex so better FOV.
Slight mod and they’re on the newer arms.

That’s great. Part #? I may copy you on that. My mirrors have issues.
Part # is: Mirror Sub-Assy 87901-55012

I paid a whopping $29 each at a local dealer.

This/\ no matter how much I tighten my stock passenger mirror it never holds.
Thanks for the part numbers.

Curious where you ended up procuring the pro cars?
Summit seemed to have the best price last time I looked.

Summit.
Free shipping. Just shy of $700 and they’re on my porch now. Of course I’m out of town on a job and my wife is asking “what are these big boxes?”

I really like the new mirrors, the field of view is great and they’re rock solid even with the slit cut out. Plus they look cooler 😎

Timing is everything. If at all possible, I try to head off the UPS driver at the foot of the driveway fo a clandestine handoff…

Got the ProCar 90 seats installed, oh my jeebus, it is sooo nice to sit in new seats. In fact, I’m sitting in one as I type this. I don’t know why they offer a mounting kit for fj40s, these mounted just fine with the OEM seat sliders. I did have to put one of my quick grip clamps in spreader mode to line up the rear mounts to the tub, each side was a little different so I think it’s just subpar tolerances.
I finger tightened the bolts when mounting into the truck to make sure the slider function was working then cranked’em down.

Took a ride and I am so pleased. $678 to my door from Summit. That’s less than the foam and shipping from $OR.

I will rebuild my OE seats at some point, probably when I find myself near $OR so I can avoid the insane shipping.

Also replaced my fuel filter for the first time in a couple years, long overdue. Truck runs so much better.

For some reason grey was back ordered and more expensive, but the black matches my fold and tumble rear seat. Eventually it’ll all go back to OG.

That’s so awesome. They actually don’t look that far from stock and a lot more comfortable… Looks like I wouldn’t even need my 3 inch foam pad to sit on!

Yessir. My butt and back are stoked to say the least. My driver seat was an amalgam of duct tape, gym mat, cheap seat covers and old farts.

To me, this upgrade is inline with the headlights and mirrors. Relatively cheap and super easy with a very worth it outcome.
