Reverse light relay (1 Viewer)

Still trying to get this relay wired up. I have tried to tap off the red/blue wire before the reverse light to excite the relay. Nothing happens. I put a meter on the wire and get around 5 volts with the lights on. The same on both sides. I do not think that is right. What am I doing wrong. Thanks

try testing the voltage with the bulbs removed voltage should be 12v (the bulbs lower the voltage) if you dont check the other side of the switch. if you have 12v before the sw and less after with no lights connected it may be a bad sw or connection.
