I previously owned a '94 80 Series, which sacrificed itself in a head on crash, with very minor injuries to our 6 year old son and myself. We replaced it with a 2000 LX470, which i regrettably replaced later with a Ford Expedition when I needed a more capable tow vehicle. I gratefully returned to a 2005 Landcruiser when heavy towing was no longer required. We recently moved from Central NY to NC. I'm hoping to find a local shop that is familiar with servicing (timing belt) my truck. 125,000 miles. Thank you! It's nice to be back!

Renaissance Auto Care In Cary did a great job with my 2000 LC timing belt job. They were cool with me bringing a Aisin kit from @cruiseroutfit and a OEM thermostat. Finished the job in an afternoon and for a decent price. I sent a buddy of mine to them for a steering rack and he had a good experience as well.

At the top of the page there's a pull down tab that says "Clubhouse" with regional sub-forums. It would probably be a good idea to post in there as well since the viewership will be more proportionally inhabited by folks in the same area. There may even already be a thread of local mechanic recommendations AND cautionary warnings.

Thanks for making me aware of that.

I’m in the middle of a move to the Raleigh area as well. I’ve gone to a few Land Cruiser spots that come up that no longer exist. Ie Classic Cruisers. Granted I’m not sure if that was TLC cruiser but it’s not there anymore haha. And TEQ Customs don’t work on older vehicles so I don’t know where that puts the 100 series since mine now qualifies for antique tags.
Good luck!
