I bought a rear view dimming mirror out of a 98 Landcruiser for my FJ80. Got it mounted up and would like to figure out how it's suppose to work. Can anyone give me some basic instructions?

One mode button with an LED to the side. This one does not appear to have the compass but does have the temperature (Based on the display). Power is connected but I do not have the sensor. Does anyone have the schematics for the sensor connection?. Wires are orange and blue for the sensor?

Would I have to go to Toyota to pick up the sensor?. Given the wiring it does not appear to be a thermocouple but rather a thermistor of some sort. I have access to one if someone could identify the unit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a photo of the mirror? From your description it doesn't sound like the autodim mirrors I have seen in early 100 series cruisers, sounds more like a mirror offered by many OEMs, manufactured by Magna Donnelley Corporation. Does it look like this?

If so you may have better luck contacting them Directly for wire schematics and to obtain the sensor.

Pictures stink but here you go:

O.k. here are a couple of pics. Pretty crappy as the flash is not working on my camera. Tried to lighten them a bit in photo shop but they still look like crap.

Definately a toyota mirror. I had to order a new windshield mount and the screw from the dealer as they were buggered.

No one has this mirror?

No one knows how to program this unit?

Anywho, it looks much nicer than the 92 unit.
