Oh the wife, is always the wife..

First things she notice on the cruiser we are buying is the lack of the U loops to mount the kids car seats (Recaro if it make any difference)

Please tell me somebody make a aftermarket plate and loop kit, stainless will be great but at this moment I take anything...

Actually is not a big deal I can fabricate them my self but is kind of a pain and a waste of time..

I used the buckle, and would tether to the cargo loop through the head rest. You can buckle safely with a seat belt, if done propertly, holds the same as the built-in u-bolts on either side, those just make it easier.

Just stick with the belt, it's not less safe. One trick i learned is to recline the seat back when tightening the belt, than move it back up.

Car Seats

If you really want latch, I think you might need to swap out the second row from a newer truck.

And as slim said, use the cargo hold or third row anchor for the tether.

I have a million "Pennytech" ways to make it work, but my wife is a by the book geek..

As simple as a drumstick with with rock climbing nylon loops, it will not move at all, rockclmping binner attach to the main fame of the seats, Kevlar strands from all bicycle tires, again endless super secure choices..

But my current idea for the build will look "pro", Stainless steel door handles mount to bend aluminum plates (to conform to the shape of the seat pan and then attach permanently to the seat frame without welding (burning upholstery) Rivnuts, perhaps, no big deal

Sadly we had to fly a lot and we are constantly taking the cars seats to get on the plane or even Uber (that way we just keep the car on the house) so if they hooks will be rigidly affix will be much easier to hook for them.

I share my finding, perhaps they can be found useful for other families in the same predicament..
