Retro badge on LX470?

The LX is currently debadged on the rear except for the big "L" in the middle. I thought I'd like the 'clean' look but I'm not really digging it. So I'm thinking to rebadge it but have been toying with putting different emblems on. One thought was to copy the FJ Cruiser guys and use an old FJ40 logo (see picture below). I can't decide if this looks cool or dumb. What do you guys think? I also thought stripping the paint off the old FJ40 logo to reveal all-chrome might be cool too. Or would you guys just do nothing, the standard "V8" or something else?

And before someone asks, yes, I have way too much time on my hands. ;p

on my 04' i think i want to take off my sombrero and v8 to leave just the "land cruiser" plate across the back. i think it would look way clean. im sure this doesnt help you. i guess im saying my vote is less is more. im just curious what my options are for getting the sombrero off my grill are. clean options anyway. oh wish list... you rarely get shorter.

I was toying with the idea of putting UZJ100 on it instead of LX470.
But if I keep the Lexus font, it just doesn't look right.

Took the V8 off of mine. Have been debating about removing the sombrero.

I had forgotten about the holes! I was fortunate enough to had the garage door closed on my opened hatch, giving me the excuse to have it repainted and the holes welded

Possibly on a '00, but the '01 is all adhesive, no holes in the tailgate..

I like the "land cruiser" badge with the cygnus. Maybe "lexus" on the top left and "land cruiser" on the top right?

Is it just me or is the V8 emblem on the cygnus bigger than what LCs and LXs have?

Actually, looking closer, it looks like the tail light is bigger or something...

Usually, I like the retro look but in this case I wouldn't mess with the original badging. I would however Plasti-dip it if it went along with the color scheme.
