Help!!
I have an electrical issue that I am at a loss.
First, I have an 88 FJ62 with an LS conversion and substantial rewiring. My issue is that I appear to have a short somewhere that I can't find. I had the truck back together and I was troubleshooting a power seat issue when I noticed that I had some continuity between my positive wires and ground. It's not the seat wiring. I haven't blown any fuses and I have isolated much of the system, but have continuity between the big white wire at the fusible link and through many systems including ignition. Admittedly, I am not an electrician but I haven't noticed any continuity before, Somehow it's in the ignition side of the ECU even though the battery power to the ECU is isolated. I've isolated as much as I could, removed all of the fuses, most of the relays, and everything i installed. Does anyone know what the 8 ga wire feeds inside the dash? The end on the drivers side of the engine compartment is now powering some relays that feed the ECU and some other systems, but there has to be a connection inside the dash that I am not seeing. Continuity is >1, but not <1. Is there something that is common to the battery and ignition (like the key?) I've noticed some continuity between the alternator (disconnected) and the ground as well between the battery post, but it's not hooked up. Am I over thinking it? Did I tear apart the truck chasing ghosts? Worried that I might burn it down after all the work I have put into it. It doesn't appear to be any of the new wiring that was done. I've spent three days tearing everything apart
