Has anyone successfully repurposed these old phone buttons to work with an aftermarket radio? Not seeing much on here, Reddit or anywhere else.

I’d like to hear results as well! If we had a wiring diagram of them that would help. My initial thoughts were to wire volume up and down, and mute=pause.
This thread comes to mind but I don't know any more, no experience myself.

That's exactly what I was wanting to do. With the 4th button either switching sources or being able to alternate the volume buttons to a previous/next set-up.
i have a 99 LX as well, and i had ordered one like that to connect to my carplay stereo only for the shop i always go to tell me that there is no way that the steering wheel control interface they tried using can connect to it because it's so old, and it won't work with any control below 2001-2002. if you got it to work let me know!!!
