(Preface: Yes, I searched first)

I need to replace the rear lower control arms and probably the fronts as well, so I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and replace all the control arms at once. Does anyone haven an idea what this would cost including parts for all arms and related doo-dads plus labor?

I've been on hold for roughly 20 minutes between three dealerships so I started calling indy places just to get a rough estimate. A local place I trust (for small stuff anyway...) told me the aftermarket lower control arms alone were over $1k a piece, and roughly $3,500 for everything, parts and labor, and this is with aftermarket parts. I'm kind of baffled because every oem control arm I see online cost no where near a thousand dollars a piece.

So, has anyone found themselves in a similar boat recently, and if you did end up replacing all of the control arms, how much did it set you back?

Thanks friends,
Ben

Find another shop to trust- the quote is about $2grand high.

HD adjustable rear control arms from metal tech are $350 a pair +\-. 1 hour to remove & replace. You can do that.

Front LCA's from Toyota are about $300 ea (discounted) and the replacement bushing is about $50 Ea. Not sure what flat rate is at the dealer but labor maybe 2hrs Ea side 2.5 to be generous.

$1100 in parts- you can go from there with labor, there isn't $2400 worth labor in this job.

This is not the cheapest online dealer- but they have a good search engine.

Average, I would say $1,500. I built, replaced and aligned mine after doing all 4 rear and only the front "uppers". I can't see that higher price tag.

Ok, thanks. Those are the numbers I was anticipating - I don't know where that shop got those numbers.

Just got done doing all 4 (uppers and lowers) up front, But also replace my steering rack.. at toyota and supplied my own parts. That i got from rock auto. have a little less then 1000 in labor and 500 in parts

For a stock suspension, is it more cost effective to go the aftermarket route or stick with oem?

Honestly depends on how much money you have. If I had the funds to go all out I would go with oem. But as a college kid it's kinda hard to do that. So I just did aftermarket like moog and dorman parts.
