My 1992 Camry V6 finally needs a new clutch (@ 250K+ miles). I'm gonna have this done by a shop and I want to make sure that since we are in there, all important parts are being replaced. What should be replaced if I'm gonna keep the car for another 5 years:
- pressure plate ?
- throwout bearing ?
- release fork?
- diaphragm spring ?
- clutch disk?
- not even sure what else is in there needing replacement
What's weird is that it's not failing the usual way of slipping, it's not disenaging correctly. It's not the master/slave as that's been replaced just a little while ago (unless the pair failed quickly).
I'm sure the shop will want to replace what's worn out, I'm just making sure that I have as much knowledge as possible and not have revisit this a year from now....
I'm gonna price shop this job at the dealer and an independent shop.
Thanks in advance guys for any advice.
