My wife bought me a aftermarket CD player to put in my '99 Cruiser as the stock player has had its CD player die.

I've heard that this isn't a normal install as you have to bypass the external amplifier and that there is an issue with the stock subwoofer in the rear that needs special attention to get it to work.

Can someone point me in the right direction of where, if any, someone has done a write-up on a install of this type?

I have replaced the stereo in my 99 w/ an aftermarket. There is an adapter that you can get that allows you to keep the factory amp and wiring. No bybassing needed. Pretty easy install. Some people have found the harness @ a local shop, but I was only able to find it online. There are different harnesses available depending on if your factory deck was a single or a 6 disc changer. All this info is in the FAQ section here.
