Does anyone know where I might be able to get a replacement headliner without having to purchase it through the dealer. The dealer wants like 1500 bucks for it. Ridiculous!

Other than a wrecking yard...you might inquire at local upholstery shops, I have seen very nice replacements custom made through reputable shops.

:)

Shop around for a better price, look for a wrecked truck, or price a custom job at a bitchin shop.

And how the hell did the headliner get ruined in such a new vehicle???

You don't wanna know... It's a sad sad day. Some a****** broke into my car and stole my stereo out of the dash and took the DVD player from the roof. In doing so, He cut apart the headliner so that he could unscrew the player and remove it from its housing. I spent the morning yesterday rewiring my car so that I could at least put the old stereo back in. Then I had to get the window he broke replaced this morning.

what, you don't have comprehensive insurance?

precisely!

not everyone carries comprehensive coverage. perhaps the 100 is paid off. even if comprehensive coverage is being carried, perhaps there are other reasons for not wanting to claim this incident.

I'd look for either a used one from a wrecker or wait until C-Dan gets back from vacation. Either way...it's not likely to be cheap.

A good upholstery shop should be able to make a repair -- maybe remove the damaged one, fix the hole then recover with new material? A bit of work, but I'd think it would be less than $1k.

What year is your ride ? L/C or L/X ?

I'm assuming only a portion of the headliner is damaged and that a good auto upholstery shop might be able to match the undamaged part like NorCalDoug suggested.

It really sucks to have you s*** damaged and stolen!
