Good morning everyone,

I have falken at3 tires that I purchased in 2015, they have about 75k on them. They are cupped pretty badly, but i have about 30% left treadwise. They are loud but there's very little vibration or wheel shake at higher speeds. Kind of clunky when coming to a stop. I was told not to rotate them a few weeks ago as it would have caused the wheel to shake. Should I replace them or ride them out? Are they safe being so choppy?

Do you know why the tyres are wearing in such a way? if you get new tyres you may prematurely wear them out in the same way. If the tyres are not currently dangerous I would try to solve the issue before getting brand new ones. Could be as simple as wheel weights not being installed correctly and falling off.

I'm a big advocate for BF Goodrich when you do replace them. Ive had KO2 AT's and currently have KM3 MT's, both brilliant and hard wearing.

Ben.

Unless the tires are out of balance, rotating will not cause a shake. I can't believe you have gotten 75K miles out of any tires on an 80 series. I would rotate and rebalance if they shake. They are cupped either due to lack of rotation and/or an alignment problem.

some tires are more prone to cupping than others so while it can indicate that there is a suspension issue it may just be a characteristic of the tire. if your tires are at 30% left then your probably looking at new tires anyways regardless of any wear issues

I recently bought winter tires for my car from couponcodify and yeah it works well and it's not too expensive on there. Well if you still want once check there.
