For peace of mind (i.e. Rust), and not having the tire size to make them look right, I removed the fender flares from my 60 that were installed by the previous owner.
I think I dodged a bullet by removing them as there was a good amount of everything behind them (mud, tar, sand, etc). A trade off is that there are holes drilled through the body where the rear door flares were.
What would you recommend to go about repairing them? I was thinking Devcon putty (similar to JB Weld) to fill the holes then sanding, priming and painting.
Does Anybody have experience with this type of repair? May use the profit from the sale of the flares to have a body shop repair the paint but I can do the prep
After cleaning
Before cleaning (left side was the worse)
