If you are going to replace the console cover you are going to have steady hands and maybe a adult pop before hand.

1st I used a nylon pry bar to remove the bottom base that holds the cup holder to the inside. There are tabs that are melted to the bottom of the lid. The pry bar will snap the weld at the tab base. Do this all the way around to separate the two.

Then you will end up with the upper console lid.

The take a small flat blade screw driver and remover all the staples that hold the cover to the inside of the lid.

Then you will need to tackle the removing the latch. Slide a thin flat blade screw driver or phillips into the slot and unscrew the two screws.

Then peel the cover off the lid being careful not to pull the foam off the lid.

Hope this helps out a few.

Best,

Sweet, when can I order an Alcantara Console cover to match my Oak interior ?

..

I am still getting the Alcantara samples and they are limited. They have tan, but this is not an exact color match. So what I was thinking was leather sides and Alcantara top. This way it will not look totally misplaced and look more natural.

that would be pretty cool looking actually.

I will have a gray and tan 100 series one done here in a few days. Not excited as the Alcantara is over $120 a yard delivered. BUt I am thinking they will look bitchen!

I feel violated after watching you strip my console! Please be gentle. I think this is her first time. Of course, only you would know the truth...

I look forward to seeing it!

Ok,

So I picked this up tonight and really did not understand the hype about Alcantara but I was told that you can wash off pen ink from it and nothing stains it.

Next week we are going to do the whole inside of my buddies RT Magnum. the headliner, pillars and full leather kit with the inserts. I will have all the pics.

No pricing on these yet as the material is NOT cheap.

Few things I need to flind out is the gray in the 100 series is it the same in the Toyota and Lexus as the Lexus is lighter (pictured above) than the 80 series leather.

I like alcantara in a sports car because it prevents you from sliding around your seat but I'm no so sure about it in a cruiser that gets dirty. It doesn't have that wipe-off clean finish.

Quite the little seamstress you are ;). Quality work, at least from what I can see. Maybe for the tan interiors you could do two-tone on the alcantara inserts, do it the color of the dash instead of trying to match the leather.
