I'm removing my front HD coil srpings on my FZJ80 and will be putting in packers. What's the best way to get them in there ? Do I need a coil spring compressor ? If so, what's the best one for the job ?

Thank you,

Matt

Beast.

With all the other stuff you have on that rig, you have sliders? Decent ones?

If so, use your hi-lift. Use the sliders as the jack point and the coils will fall right out. Of course, use your noggin as you need to shocks, breathers, brakelines, poss sway bar etc.

I second the method that Christo describes. I saw the springs switched in less time than it took for me to drink a .

The front works just the same, and a foot pushing down on the wheel in the rim helps, but you may need a tyre lever to flick the spring out over the rise that hits on the internal bumpstop [inside the spring, part of the diff housing], I lever off the caliper with a crow bar.

Thanks guys, I'll try this method.

Matt
