Remove rear windows defrost on my 90 HZJ 73?

Going for a window tint job and was wondering about trying to save the grid defrost system on the rear windows. I live in south Florida so cold temperatures are not an issue (very very rarely). Just wanted to ask to see if I was making a big mistake before I go about removing them?

My favorite tint shop has a man that excels at custom cutting and fitting tint onto oddball cars since the 70 series doesn't show up in their computer to make perfect sized pre-cut pieces.

I'll make a point tomorrow to photograph how he worked around the power leads and fit the rear film perfectly.

Was running around like crazy today getting things done but I did take those pictures for you. He unplugged them and laid the film down and simply cut out the necessary holes.

I honestly cannot see any imperfections in his work.
