Removable Tops Pigs

I was thinking about fabbing up a frame and getting some canvas to make a top for the cargo area. When I clean up the hack job it will be ready for that project.

you could have soft tops too, kinda like this one. it looks abit shortened

shortened

how about shorting the whole pig (little off the middle - little off the back end) so that a removeable hard top would be made up of mostly the two rear side windows. there might need to be some manipulation of the top of the lift gate for aesthetics. maybe even put a hatch door in place of the electric window,.....
add a cage and a folding windshield. of course that still leaves the roof. you could always have a bikini top.

Or you could just buy a 40 series.

I think it looks like a scout. I couldn't have that, because that is the fugliest 4x ever built. I like the 4 doors. I want to have kid(s) and I want to take them wheeling too. So a wagon is going to be a must have. The canback was what I had in mind as a template for my canvas rear roof

Are you refering to Scouts or the chopped pig? I like Scouts, and if it would have gone a different way years and years ago, I may have ended up on a Scout board instead of this one.
I too don't care a whole lot for the shortened 55's just cause it takes away from the cargo area, and plus I love the 55's natural lines. But.... If I had a proj. rig that I didn't mind putting the saw to, I think I'd prolly go for the removable top with roll cage. Those open bar doors would work great too. BTW, that's a great shot! A Marlin Crawler girl, eh? I'm sooooollldddd!

scouts are great rigs, i've had a couple, the '79 was by far one of the best rigs i've owned. it now resides in oregon with my dad. the scout had its drawbacks, but with 345-727-300 and D44's F/R it really did well on AND off road.

I was refering to the scouts being ugly. I know that they are very capable rigs. Why would I be critical of chopped pigs? I own one :D
