Am considering a new 2019 or 2020 land cruiser lc200, but can't find a definitive answer as to whether it comes with a fob with standard remote start.
Appreciate any info.

It is NOT standard. When the local dealer got in 2 land cruisers one had remote and the other did not. They can add it on for you.

2017 was the last year for “factory “ remote start. Dealers can not add Toyota OE remote start on 2018/2019/2020. Same for factory/port. Aftermarket is your only option. Viper/Clifford are both very good.

About time - it was next to useless anyway. Short range, shut off with door open... Toyota in an effort to avoid law suits made the thing pretty much useless. Wish they would have improved it, but I'm glad they trashed a crappy product.

Recently (2018+) redesigned Toyota’s (RAV4, Avalon, Camry) offer Remote Connect (if equipped with SiriusXM Radio). You can start/stop engine via smartphone app using Verizon cell network for $8/mo. It’s decently nice as you can change locked/unlocked status, windows status, door status, geofencing alerts for guest/kid drivers, fuel level, etc. also you don’t have to be on an annual contract, you you can buy it just in the winter months too. Undoubtedly will be coming to LC upon refresh/redesign whenever that may.be.

That's pretty nice. The domestics have had this a while. OnStar, FordPass, uConnect Access, etc... Even Hyundai/Kia with BlueLink/UVO.. It's nice to see them adding it. But I wish they still had a good remote start via the remote like GM, Ford, and Chrysler do... I prefer factory, just wish it was on par with others. Each time I look at Toyota's tech I'm thankful it's reliable but I wince at how behind it can be.... LX570 $95k - no Android Auto or Apple Car Play...but they have on a RAV4... Love...and Hate Toyota..hence the name. Don't get me started on Toyota tech...sort of a thorn for me. Still love my LC though.

I should have mentioned, but the Remote Connect offerings allow you to use the key fob remote start for free.

I had a 2017 4Runner limited and has the factory remote start installed... what a waste of money!!!! Every freaking time I open the door it would shut off. Now I know I should of asked, but I also had a aftermarket remote starter on my Avalon and it would only turn off if I hit the brake pedal before I cycled the key..... Lessons learned

Useless lol? Nothing about warming up a car before you get in it during winter is worthless. Even if it turns off when you open the door.

Should have figured when the sales guy paused and then said yes it was standard on a 2019 LC, he was blowing smoke. However, he was a step up from the sales person prior who was, trying to convince me a 4 runner was a Sequoia.

Yeah, I get the need to idiot proof but GM figured it out... Seems like it would be pretty simple to just lock out the shifter until the fob was detected inside. It prevents locking your keys inside, seems like not a big step in control logic to avert user frustration.

Toyota's implementation of remote start it is next to useless...because you have to get so close to use it. Not the feature itself. Others including 3rd party do it better. What value do I get if I have to go out in the cold to get close enough to activate it? When I'm at work the car is not next to the window, which it would need to be in order to get close enough to activate it. Heck, it won't even activate if I stand at the building entrance when I can see it. Lock/Unlock works at that range, but Toyota specifically limits the distance to about 20 ft to activate the remote start feature. So I have to trek across the lot to visit the car to start it and then run back into the office.... pretty much worthless to me. Nothing "remote" about it when I have to get so close. Might as well just sit in the car and let it warm up.

My after market works a good several blocks away with buildings .. or up to about 1 mile in the country.. BUT I have to carry 2 key bobs. One for the alarm with the remote and the other for the lc200.

Because of the rotating security frequency the after market can't program the toyota security codes for driving away with the vehicle.

I have a 2009 LX, bought it used a few years ago and it came with factory installed remote start. A "tech guy" at the Lexus dealership was there as part of the sales team to answer any questions on the truck's features; I recall him saying he had never seen a remote start before on the LX. Til this day, I have yet to use this feature.

How do the aftermarket remotes work with the immobilizer? I've thought about that route but storing a key fob under the dash so the truck will start isn't work the security risk. I really like the fact that if I park my truck remotely it will be there when I get back. If you're motivated enough to skid an 8,000lbs truck onto a flatbed and across 100 miles of dirt road you can have it.
