Simple question on how the CD changer that was location in back was mounted. Had I purchased one of these changers to install under the seat of a early Land Cruiser. Was the opening for cartridge on the top or was the unit mounted horizontal with the opening on a side? Or maybe even vertical with the slide open door on a side?
Basically wanting to how these were mounted. I've had bad luck with the dash mounted changers. Hopefully these might be better. The one I'm getting came out of a Camry which have faired better than an SUV.

I believe they were mounted horizontally - but don't quote me on that.

Thanks for the reply. Think you might be right. The one I bought arrived yesterday evening. Not mounted in a vehicle but have setup to test audio. So it's far been flawless running for hours. Took a long time for me to embrace CDs. At this stage of my life not going to start downloading music when I already have a huge collection of the music I listen too. Double DIN audio from turn of the century Toyota's in my 89 FJ62. Complete plug and play. 40 series a little more challenging. Widen for a single DIN is bad enough. Not going to hack the dash for a double DIN. Don't expect a CD changer to fair well long turn on a 40. Something remote and easy to change out is what after. A Toyota head unit with a cassette player in thebsash is close to period correct.
