Refurb Hobart 187

Has anyone bought one of these Hobart Handler 187 units from toolking.com?

The price seems very good. I called and they said 1 year warranty, like new condition, less than 2 years old.
Feedback on the vendor or the refurb units in general? I am sold on the quality of the Hobart Handler 187 already.

I have heard from people that have purchased the refurb from Toolking. The "A" grade units look brand new, but have a metal tab that states that is is refurb riveted to the back of the case. I would not have any reservation buying from
Toolking.

Good price on a solid welder. I bought mine about 6 months back and am impressed. I think you did well.

Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and ordered it. The price was better than the few Hobarts and Millers I've been able to find on craigslist over the last 3 months.

Got protective gear, just need cylinder/gas and a 220V extension cord (I'll make my own as others have done).

Bummer. I got mine last week and I'm very happy with it. It has a small dent in the door, but no other damage. I have never welded before, but I was up and running quickly and even made some decent (as checked by hammer and cross-section), if ugly, welds. I noticed they had the 180:

but it is $20 more for the older model. Keep an eye out; hopefully they will get more in.

I would wait the for HH187. HH180 has only 4 voltage taps and does not have the same quality of arc as the HH187.

I think I'm going to go the exact same route. For the price of the refurb HH187 and that plasma cutter, I'm about the same money as just the HH210. Let me know what you think

Standard welding plug. 6-50p (plug) and 6-50R (receptacle).

You can buy both at homo depot and lowes.

The welder and the cutter showed up today
Both were marked as "A" grade even though the cutter was listed as "B" grade on the web site but showed on the packing slip as a "A" but had the the "B" price so
Both look like new but the welder has a scratch on it other then that and the tag all looks brand new
Now I need to get some gas and a helmet this weekend and light some stuff on fire :whoops:
