For a 96 with almost 300k. Rebuilding to 4.6 with trd S/c.
Exhaust needs replacing soon and been researching options from back to stock to a cobbled part exhaust. At this point I’d rather just go with full custom performance minded but also a shop than can dial in right subtle sound and no drone. So know will cost me a bit more. But still prob a bit less than stock exhaust costs these days .

I found some old threads from 15-20 years ago for a couple of places in Phoenix but look like out of business.

Any recommendations on who to look for in Phoenix area - ideally north east but certainly drive a ways to find a good shop?

Google maps-based on reviews pulls up several with high ratings, but I’d rather have personal experience recommendations from here.

Much appreciated

Scottsdale Muffler did mine 7 years ago. '97 lx450 TRD super charger + CX Racing headers and 3" over the frame exhaust, with custom J-pipe for reducing the drone. Looks like they are still around. They were tuners for sure when I went there. I brought in most of the components and they put it all together.

Perfect. I just looked them up, high reviews and gallery looks like tuner shop perfect. Thanks for build link - will check it out.

Scottsdale Muffler built a custom exhaust for my K5 - cross over pipe in front of the oil pan to give the front driveshaft more room. Done more than a dozen years ago and no issues.

Thank you ChaseTruck. Another one for Scottsdale Muffler.

Other couple I found just on high rated searches are titanmufflers.com and performancemuffler.net/phoenix/ if anyone knows them.
Prob will just go with Scottsdale Muffler - not too far either.

This was the design concept I took into Scottsdale Muffler. They made the J-pipe length adjustable with the clamp. I never changed the length from 25.5" as it sounded great to me. Single catalytic converter, kept both 02 sensors, muffler, J-pipe, and two resonators of different lengths. It's throaty if you step on it, but quiet when cruising. Some headers will block the EGR flow behind cylinder #6.

excellent. Thanks again. Vibrant makes a good resonator and will use that here too.
