Recommendation - Engine Rebuild mechanic

I just had my alternator replaced at Yotamasters and they notice a rod knock. An engine rebuild is mandatory, but I may have some time. Has anyone got a good reference for a mechanic to do a full rebuild?

That sucks! How many miles are on yours? Are you sure it isn't valve train noise? Yes, the green ones are superior in all aspects. Everyone knows that!

Don't know if SDTrux in La Jolla does complete rebuilds. They replaced my head gasket and brand new top end a few years ago and did a superb job.
