Mmmmmm.... Recaro seats. Not very many seats compare to these beauties, even if this set is an older style.... and who would of thunk it!? Turd brown cloth seats for my turd brown cloth interior. The bolsters are huge, so they do an excellent job of holding one in place over the bumps and off camber situations. That really reduces fatigue on the trail as the steering wheel no longer becomes the brace.

The mounts will be modified to bolt into the FZJ... I'll post some pictures when I install them.

I just put a set of Honda Pilot seats in my 60.

I ended up using two pieces of stop sign post (the perforated metal square tubing) as adapter brackets. It worked very well.

The Honda seats were electric, so I had to run a couple of wires, but it turned out very nice. I have a bunch of height adjustment, and the seat bolsters are pretty good. Much better than the 60's stockers had anyway.

Adapting seats is a big job, but is also pretty darn worthwhile.

Has anybody tried to put seats from a UZJ100 into a 80. Friend of mine has a uz and man those seats are nice. 2 armreasts. :)

reff - that was just asked in another thread. I believe the response was that it would be tough fit if possible.

The only problem I see is that the lower bolster will get trashed fairly quickly from sliding in and out of the rig. Recaros are nice seats, I had the heated leather variety in my old BMW. The armrests would be really nice!

Sorry J. didn't search. Just happened to have a friend over who hadn't seen in a while and they don't wheel or know a thing about it and they had just bought a U and man where those seats impressive.

Are you sure they are Recaro. Looks like Flofit or Corbeau to me.
All the recaro I seen have rotating type reclining adjuster not lever type and they have a latch on the outside lumbar to flip the backrest forward.

You are correct. They are Flofit seats.... I usually catch the "Recaro STYLE" in the description, but missed it this time. The other things you mention are dead give aways. The owner actually was expecting more... so we may both opt out of this "deal". Thanks. I'm off to pull the tail out from between my legs. :o :D

Augie,

Good catch. I was also going to ask. Hey, what's up with the "lockers work in high range" on your sig?

DougM

 I had Recaros in a GTI I had and loved 'em. Those would've been cool. 'Cept for that hideous color.

Doug,

I did some modification to the locker ECU and it works just like the 7th pin mod. I could engage the rear locker regardless if I in high range, low range or even if the center diff are locked or not.
Not something really useful except making donuts on snow :-)
