There is a turbo turbine housing on the other side. When it is all assembled, would that make it a 22RTSE? The idea is compound forced induction where the compressed air from the turbo is fed into the supercharger and compressed again.
That's fun, and a little crazy. I had a 22RTE in a '86 2WD back in college. It even had a Schneider cam in it. It was a pretty quick little truck. I wish I had it now but I had to sell it when I wanted to buy my first new car, a 1999 Tacoma XCAB TRD. I had no good reason and not enough spare finances to keep a 2-seater sport truck back in my early 20s when kids were on the horizon.

Lower to the ground + no 4wd stuff weight + turbocharger+ performance cam + light truck = fun fun fun!

I was too poor in college to go through tires that fast, but it definitely would smoke them with old school 1980's no traction control, no ABS, just a manual transmission, a clutch that could take a little abuse, tires designed for pavement use and no weight on the driven wheels. It wasn't actually that incredibly fast but turbo whine and a manual transmission will make you think you are. My buddy in his stock 1989 Civic Si could keep up with me.

I went from a '76 Datsun 620 pickup with the L20B 2.0L and a 4 speed to this '86 Toyota with a 2.4L 22RTE. HP went from 100 to 135, I had an extra top gear, air conditioning, power windows, power locks and power steering. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I could actually get up to highway speeds in a decent amount of time and cruise at 70 with no problems.

This is EXACTLY how I felt after the turbo went into my 80. I was and still am in heaven when I step on the gas and something actually happens :rofl:
 
I am working on both! 😊 I have enough running vehicles for everyday driving. So, projects can be done at a leisurely pace. I am holding off on this build because I fear I may be rebuilding the transmission and differentials on a regular basis due to the output of this setup. I should get a burnout with the front and rear wheels, though! We'll see if common sense prevails. In the meantime, it makes a good coat rack. 😁 The straight 6 will get the only non-running vehicle on the road again.

Will this fit in the engine compartment? Problems with battery location and supercharger pulleys? Air-to-water intercooler and hood interference problems? Cutting, smashing, mangling, and repairing the engine compartment is a lot of work.
This approach is appealing due to its modularity. On any particular day, you can choose naturally aspirated, super-charged, or turbo-charged by arranging intake and exhaust components. Need to see if super-charged + turbo-charged is feasible.
 
The tape measure tells me it will be tight. Tasks for super-charged + turbo-charged:
Build a tray to keep the battery from moving.
Reroute all the hoses on top of the valve cover.
Duct work between the turbo and intercooler.
Duct work between the intercooler and intake.
Bracket to support the intercooler.
None of these items are commercially available. If I decide to jump into the deep end, it means getting materials and firing up metal cutters, a press break, and AC/DC GTAW welder just to name a few.
