Hey folks,

I KNOW one or more of you tech heads knows how to replace these things.

I'll be damned if I'm paying 208.00 in labor for both of these bulbs to be replaced.

I'm sure it's tedious and takes some time but that's just ridiculous.

Thanks

There are several threads on removing these there are a series of plastic clips to remove the mirror then you remove the base structure to get to the bulb. Check out Toyota FJ Cruiser Community.

There may even be a video of a build where they installed insanely bright LEDs.

take a screw driver flat head and wrap it with tap and pry up from the bottum.this is how they tell you to do it from toyota i have dun about 7 or 8 only brock one clip 1 of 3 on the mirror. 208 in laber you need to go to a new shop. unless the are saying that in case they brack your mirror. what sate are you in?

I'm in VA.

Yeah, the dealership I bought it from wants to charge 100.00 per mirror. I laughed.

Anybody have any recommendations for quality/bright LED bulb?

If I do this, I want to do it once every decade.

Thanks again.

Door panel off. From there you're on your own. I painted my mirrors without disassembling them so I can't help with taking the actual mirror apart.
