I left truck parked for two weeks, and returned to a broken rear wiper :(. I want to check the little things first, starting with the fuse. I pulled the panel, and I only found a fuse for "Wipers" which I'm assuming is just the FRONT wipers which still work. Is there a separate fuse else where? Any reason this thing would just pretty randomly go out after functioning all winter?

Check the common ground. I think it uses the same ground as the rear tail lights, along the rear crossmember.

Mine quit working for a while once, but it was only about 5 minutes. after rocking the switch a few times it kicked back on again.

On that note- pull the switch and clean it.

My bet, having had this happen to me, is the wiring when it passes from the truck body to the tailgate. First to go was the return on the wiper where the wiper returns to the "at rest" location after turning off, then the wiper quit completely. I found several wires had broken due to fatigue from the tailgate being opened and closed countless times in the life of the truck. Just feed new stranded wire through the grommets and reconnect.

Found this on search. I just put a new hatch (from a junk yard) on my 60 and in doing so, swapped out the rear wiper motor from my old hatch, because i had recently replaced it.

I connected the wire inside the hatch, and the clip by the hinge that's above the head liner, and now the wiper doesn't work??

Must be the wire going through the hatch right?
