Just purchased my '99 and it didn't come with its rear deflector. Holes are there (along with some rust), but I can't tell how the wing was actually secured to the vehicle. There are 2 holes on each side where the wing was secured.

I'd like to add a rear wing, but what anchor assembly should I order?

Thanks

I assume that you're talking about this "wind deflector":

and not this "spoiler":

If I understand correctly the "wind deflectors" are either port or dealer installed. I've seen it done two different ways, one with self tapping body screws/bolts into bare holes in the upper hatch and another with M6 x 1.00 rivnuts installed in the upper hatch.

Yes, the wind deflector. I guess I'm just going to rust proof it and seal it up. Sucks because I liked how the deflector kept dirt etc. off the back window.

I found an aftermarket spoiler deflector the other day on line that resembles the 06 style- have you seen that?- it was around $200

It really shouldn't be that much trouble. They should be readily available from the dealer (at least they were a while back in GST territory). If you've got just bare holes in the sheet metal, and you want to re-add the deflector, I'd cleanup/paint/seal the holes and use the rivnut method.

If you're not going to re-add the deflector, I'd probably still cleanup/paint/seal the holes, rivnut, and put some screws in the rivnuts.

We used screws like this (along with some silicone sealant) to seal up the ones on my son's vehicle

There are a couple in the classifieds. With so many folks removing them, it shouldn't be too hard to find one.
