I have a slight noise coming from the rear end. Pitch changes with speed.

How can i tell if it is a rear wheel bearing or gear whine?
What am i looking at price wise for parts if it is a rear wheel bearing and amount of time in labor? Looks like a special press is needed for the job.

I have had the wheel bearing go bad on a tundra but no the cruiser thankfully, but It will make a tire roar sort of sound and mine would get worse on the rain. I think because the wheel sensor rubber was undone. I don't think it's much different on the cruiser but you will need a press to get the old one out and new one in. You could prob just pull it off and take it to a shop to get that part done. I know Oreillys has a couple of tools for getting the wheel seal out and back in, but not sure about the bearing. Prob a 300 dollar job at toyota. But you may want to check to see its been a while since I had one done

Thanks thundercloud. That is the best way to describe it, it sounds like tire roar. I initially thought it was my MTRs.

Yeah, That is what I thought it was too, I even got new tires and to my dismay it still roared when I put the new tires on, I finally figured out that it was the bearing. I was even getting some vibration in the floor board on that Tundra, but the cruiser may not do that.
