I know there are a few threads about changing rear springs by jacking one side at a time and using a jack to lower the axle and pull the springs.

Is there any reason why I can't undo the bottom shock bolts and jack the usprung weight of the rig and replace the springs that way? Essentially leaving both rear wheels on the ground?

^ Last time I swapped out my rear coil springs I didn't remove the rear wheels. Remove that bottom shock bolt and you can get them in and out fairly easy. A couple big pry bars are handy for popping them out if you need a little extra to get them out.
