What size is the top nut on the rear shocks?

Ummmm did you grab a bunch of sockets and try some?

I didn't think of that. Let me just lift the body off the frame about 6" so a socket would fit in there. Good call man thanks for the help!

I don't remember what size it was when I changed the shocks to the ome setup. What we did was get it on a lift. Removed the tire and stuck in spanners till we got the right one. I've got a basic tool kit in the back of the 200 and tried to fit the largest spanner (17) and it was too small and just barely got it there on my fingertips

The largest I have is 19mm and its too small. My adjustable is too short to get back there. I'm guessing its 22mm.

was going to say 19mm but you might be right. Have changed to radflos and they may be different than stock. I had to replace one of my top nuts and bushes recently because of damage caused by loose nut. I can confirm that getting at the LHS rear shock nut is a real pain, not least because of the angle of attack required. In the end resorted to long handled adjustable spanner with an articulated head. Not sure what they are called. Tightening this nut down properly is a chore and not surprised that I missed doing it properly on shock jnstall.

Good luck. If I can find the original shocks today in my shed I'll measure the nut for you but you are going to need a particular type of spanner. As you will know the shock is at a tricky angle to the access slot and keeping sufficient contact pressure on the nut to tighten adequately is the trick.

Yes the wrench size is the easy part I'm finding. The angle sucks, you are right. Thanks for the guidance.

Radflos are 19mm but the stock nut is bigger.

Ok...so basically you got some different sockets and tried them out.... EXACTLY what I said.....:hhmm:

Once you confirm the size something like this would be handy to buy and keep in the tool box for next time.

Articulated ratchet spanner:

Agreed. I'll report back. Thank you

22mm socket

definately no room for a socket on LHS even if you remove the muffler and try and get to it from the inside of frame. RHS no problems from the inside of frame as I recall so might be able to slip a socket on that one to determine nut size as both will be the same.
