Anyone have tips on replacing rear shocks? I made a feeble attempt over the weekend, but had a heck of a time accessing the top mount nuts- Any tricks or tool recomendations??
Thanks!

I havn't looked at mine but I suspect its similar to a 80 series. if so then to get to the upper nut you must take off the 2 bolts(on the bottom) and pull the shock out, then remove the mounting plate, then reattach it to the shock and bolt it back up.

I wish it was like a 80, but nooooooooo. The upper stud goes through a plate. This plate is cuped and can catch all the small rocks and dirt there is if you offroad. That said I use a long handle 17 (if I remember right) box end wrench and then grab the shock with a big pair of slip wrench. then when it is loose I grab it and turn the whole shock. install is reverse of above, except I do not have to use the slip wrench to hold the shock when I tighten it with the gear wrench. If you have a lot of debree up there I would then use some liquad lube to coat the threads before removing the nut. No there is no acesse plate inside to get to the nut. Some time I will also use a flex handle 3/8 drive with a deep socket on the nut, with the big slip wrench.
another one of the big advances of the 100 series. later robbie
