Does anyone have a tv or multiple tv's mounted in their 80 series cruisers for the people in the back seat, I have a 94 with a sunroof, just wondering what my options are, i.e. in headrest, mounted directly behind sunroof, or maybe in the center counsel facing back, would love to see some pics if ya got em, thanks!

i installed one in my dads LX one of the over head ones just behind the moon roof. works great however on long tips and such where rear view is needed its a pain in the ass as it blocks the mirror. i would try a head rest set up. converting headrests shouldnt be to hard on a 80 to fit screen hardest part of that job is routing the wires through the seat so as not to be seen. the back of the center console would suck too low hurts the neck. i used to have a small tv we would wedge inbetween the two front seat before the dvd player and its just to painful to watch on long trips.

my truck had one installed before i bought it. It was in place of the overhead light assembly. It's gone now (thank god) but you can tell it was there. THe P.O. said it was a pain to use the rear view mirror when it was folded down. He had to splice the overhead light power cable.

I have a 97 80 and I have a fold down flat screen DVD unit mounted where the light console was. I do not mind it one bit. Some of the previous posts complain about the rear view being blocked. That is TRUE. My screen is 6 inches or so and I can see on inch around either side to the rear...enough to get by. I will say that the only time my kids watch the DVD's, we are usually on a long trip, not in rush hour traffic, around town, etc. The only disadvantages I can potentially see to the back of the seat mounting options would be: 1)Permanant 2) My son usually sits in the 3rd row seat and my 2 daughters sit in the 2nd row. They all can see the screen perfectly, mounted on the rood. I don't know if my son would have as good of view from the 3rd row as he does now. FWIW If I could choose to do it over again, I would keep things exactly as they are, as this addtion to our LC has been a LIFESAVER. Try driving 19 hrs. from PA to SW coast of FL straight through with an 8 month old, 2 year old and a 6 year old!!! What were we thinking  I need a

Let me know if you want some pics!! (of the installed DVD:)

Hi.
I have some LCD's that slip over the headrest and the DVD player sits where ever you want, Its made by Audiovox, I got it at Costco for about $400.00+/- They are nice because you can transfer from vehicle to vehicle. They could even play video games on them with the proper hookups
They come with 2 LCD's, 1 DVD player, carry case, 2 headphones.
They do make travel much quieter.
Good luck

Years ago - like 8-9 years, I bought a little 9" tv/vcr combo and built a wooden stand that slips right over the center console. Unit plugs into the cig lighter. Works great. Only drawback is no armrest for driver right arm/passenger left arm. Old technology by todays flat screens, but it works great!

I have heard of people putting a laptop upsidedown and having it be held up by the ceiling, apparently there is software which will invert the image on the laptop screen. Anyone know what's the name of that software, I did some searches awhile ago and never came up with anything. That setup would work good I'd think, if you have a laptop ofcourse.
