So my lift gate started to close, but not really, when it almost closed it double beeps and opens back up? I have checked everything, nothing in the way, but it seems like the gate is out of alignment, if I push on the door (passenger side to driver side) it closes fine??? Any quick fixes that someone has figured out???
Thank you to everyone who responds!

What year is your vehicle and have you ever replace the lift struts? They might be overly worn such that the power gate senses too much load.

The rubber strip around the door contains sensors. My door was off and when it went back on it did the same thing yours is doing. Check that the “strip” isn’t the problem

2013 with 57,000 miles?? Is it about time??? Thanks for the response!

Does the hatch open well, with good support from the struts, when you manually open it? Does it close well, and doesn't prematurely drop?

If it's not working out of character, it might be what @GordJ suggests.

The gate opens easy and stays up and closes manually just fine! Are the sensors in the rubber on the truck or in the gate? How do you check them to see if they are working?

They’re in the rubber. I could see where they were contacting the side of the taillight assembly when it was pointed out to me.

I’ll bet that’s it, because all I have to do is put a little pressure on the tailgate and it works perfectly, but there is a little more gap on one side then the other! Do the struts keep the door centered?

I took mine to a body shop and they diagnosed it and re-aligned it. I was going to replace the struts until they straightened me out.

So, here is what fixed it, new struts, ordered from Amazon per another thread, I just want to say thank you to all who post and help out on this forum!!! This is what the internet should be used for!! (and porn).

Anybody has experienced the opposite issue?

On my 2019 LC when it opens all the way it beeps and starts closing immediately until it is fully closed.
It does not do it all the time.

Yes, that’s what I will do but it’s a pain to deal with them when the issue doesn’t happen at the time of inspection. I don’t feel that they really try to troubleshoot.

The more prepared I am the better chances I have to get the issue resolved.
