Looking for a picture of the routing for the rear license and marker lights. And where do they ground? I did not take any pics of this.

the marker lights do have ground plugs. I have the rear harness in, but have an aftermarket 1/2 tub. Wondering if the butt connectors come up through the aft wheel well.
Thanks
Scott

Marker and rear license light wires come up through the top of the rear corner of the inner fender. 3/4" hole (approx) with grommet, one on each side. If your markers have ground wires, they attach to the screws that mount the marker lights. Put the hole as far back in the corner as you can, and it'll be like factory.

Are one of the 2 leads coming off of the license a ground? And if so which one.

As long as the light itself is not grounded to the body , it make no difference, take your pick.

Usually, ground wire is white/black. Some marker lights and license plate lights are one-wire and some are two-wire. If two-wire, the ground wire will typically be white/black.

The license plate lights ground through the light housings/plate bracket. There isn't any separate ground wire. Some of the side marker lights also ground through the housings (I forget which years) but if yours has a separate ground wire, attach that to one of the mounting screws as was mentioned. I use a star washer under that ground wire. The holes that Texx referred to are on the inside, next to the tailgate/ambulance door opening in the tub.

For some years, the license plate lights and side marker lights were two-wire (sorry, don't know which years) as shown in the photos.

You can certainly add a ground wire to a light by spot welding the lug to the light housing as shown in the bottom photo (this just happened to be a repair; the OEM connection is shown on the light in the top right). It makes the light more reliable by ensuring a proper ground.

That is a nice pic. and thanks to everyones response. What I would like to see is a pic of a marker light and the passenger amby door opened for a 4/75. With the tech advice, I can handle it from there.
