Shipping to Canada is more favorable than to the US because Canada Post allows for larger packages to be sent via slowboat, instead of just with express ar.

My (big) gut feeling is that it would not clear.

I've just snapped some pics for you to see for yourself.

The bottom part sticks out just about 12cm's (I know it looks more like 13 in the pic, but from the correct angle it's right at 12), while the top sticks out a bit more at 13-13.5-ish.

This is a big ladder and I won't be able to send it via slowboat to the US.

So shipping will have to come via express mail and that would set you back about $100US.

The other one that I have just posted above weighs a bit more, but should be small enough to be sent via slowboat if you want to keep the cost low(er), at $55.

It might not matter in your case, but this ladder appears to have the removable brackets at the top, as most of them do, so you should be able to mount it on the right side (USPS) of the hatch, as well.
