The heater itself is pretty easy to remove. Just three bolts. You might need to remove the passenger front seat first. Minimal effort to cap the system would be to loop (i.e. Run a tube between) the two ends of the hard lines (see above). Might want to burp your system after to ensure removal of any air.
In very cold weather the rear passengers will appreciate the heat.Discovered my fittings were shot and beginning to leak, so I've temporarily bypassed this heater. Can anyone give me a good reason for keeping this heater hooked up? It totally fails to defrost rear glass in cold weather, so I don't see any big loss.
This... and purpose of the rear heater is not to defrost the rear glass, rather as a very primitive "dual zone" climate control.In very cold weather the rear passengers will appreciate the heat.
