I just picked up this new to me Lexus GX and it has a pop down rear monitor. The video seems to work fine weather via USB or the DVD player, but I can't get any audio at all. I get no sound through the speakers into no sound through the headphones. My question is: does this look like a OEM monitor, or was this installed aftermarket? It looks nothing like what's in the manual and I suspect it is not original. There is no DVD changer in the console either. Either way any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem?

The rear screen / DVD is aftermarket, the rear audio control is OEM.

Some of the aftermarket systems use an RF modulator to get the audio to the OEM sound system. Try playing a DVD and search the FM band for the DVD audio signal. If your GX is 2005 or newer, it could maybe be a Bluetooth connection?

I never thought of that. I bet that's what's going on because I pulled the system out and only three wires were hooked up. Power, ground and ignition/accessory.

Thanks for the tip!
